Thank you
I enjoy hearing from readers, regular or new, so please take the time to send me an e-mail. Some people consider it unusual for a man to write about romance. I fail to see why, since men are at least as capable as women of feeling emotion, and are no less as vulnerable in love and out of it. Nobody, man or woman, has written a more sensitive or more moving story than R D Blackmore with his Lorna Doone. That particular saga inspired me to write romance stories in the first place. It was one of those books I had to study at school and, unlike many of the others, it was no chore - I really could not put it down. Naturally, I have read it again in later life and enjoyed it just as much. Other writers I particularly admire are Arnold Bennett, possibly Britain's greatest ever novelist and author of Clayhanger, The Old Wives' Tale, etc. The late Winston Graham who wrote the hugely successful Poldark series of novels, among others, has also had a stimulating influence on my work.
